Erin Bass advises clients on labor and employment litigation matters, including defending employers against wage-hour class actions; claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, and whistleblower retaliation; and unfair labor practice charges. She also represents clients under investigation by the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division and conducts wage-hour compliance audits to prevent liability in government investigations and class actions. Additionally, she counsels management on reductions-in-force, facility closures, employee discipline, and human resource policies.
Alan Feldman advises clients on employment law and labor relations matters, including defending employers against claims of harassment, and discrimination based on disability, gender, age, race, national origin, and religion. He also represents companies in cases involving allegations of unequal pay, overtime and wage law violations, defamation, and wrongful termination. Additionally, Mr. Feldman assists companies with workforce reduction planning and counsels management on trade secret protection, non-compete contracts, employee discipline , and human resource policies. He also represents employers in all areas of labor relations.
Steve Wheeless represents clients – large and small – across the United States in employment class action and complex EEO litigation, as well in labor law matters. He serves as lead trial and appellate counsel for employers defending against wage-and-hour putative class and collective actions, and defends clients facing complex equal employment opportunity (EEO) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)-initiated charges and complaints. Clients have selected Mr. Wheeless to serve as lead trial counsel in connection with over 2000 employer and union-initiated unfair labor practice allegations, labor-related civil suits, and arbitration matters. Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Wheeless served as a United States Air Force F-16 Instructor Pilot and a Diplomatic Exchange Officer to the Royal Danish Air Force.
